Daily Dose: Release of Jive 4.5.6

Version 4.5.6 Jive, the popular Java portal building platform, boasts a significant set of improvements over the previous releases. Jive users can access Jive remotely using Jive Mobile.  Support is included for Android, Backberry, and iPhone. Overall performance is enhanced thanks to several crucial bug fixes. New Perl 5.14 Unveiled

A new stable version of Perl has been unveiled by the Perl development team. While most of the modifications are minor, several key enhancements have been added.  These enhancements include the following:

  • Full Unicode Support
  • Improved IPv6 Support
  • Improved CPAN Client Configuration

The most far-reaching improvements in this version of Perl are those made to enable Unicode support.  

Talend to Sponsor Apache Software Foundation

The Apache Software Foundation has a new sponsor! An open-source data integration company, Talend, will become an official bronze sponsor of the foundation this year.  Currently, Talend uses Apache CXF and Camel.
