Daily Dose: Release of MeeGo 1.2

The much anticipated release of MeeGo 1.2 has officially been announced this week! MeeGo 1.2's OS is home to several reference kernels, including those for the Intel Atom and ARMv7 platform. Linux and Windows are the currently supported platforms.  A Mac OS X SDK will be released by the end of this year.

A Colorful Red Hat Release: Red Hat Linux 6.1

Red Hat Linux 6.1 (RHEL 6) is available for download! New features include a new set of configuration options for storage (Fibre Channel over Ethernet). Many new configurations have also been added for Datacenter Bridging and iSCSI. Thanks to the numerous enhancements, Red Hat Linux 6.1 has consistently demonstrated blazing fast SPECvirt_sc2010 benchmarks when run on an HP Proliant 20-core Blade server.

Fedora 15 Is Almost Final!

Members of the Fedora Project have announced that work has been completed on the final version of Fedora 15. Preparations are being made for the release. Soon after the May 24th release date, the Fedora Project will hold elections to fill their committee seats. Citizens of "export-restricted countries" (i.e. Cuba, North Korea, etc.) will not be allowed to hold a seat on the board.

WebStorm 2.1 Released

A new upgrade of the popular WebStorm IDE has been released. According to the WebStorm and PhpStorm Blog, the Webstorm 2.1 includes the following features:

    •    JavaScript debugger in Google Chrome
    •    htaccess support
    •    HTML tag tree highlighting
    •    Easier code completion that does not require you to press Shift for uppercase letters
    •    Reworked UI for Search/Replace
    •    New Diff tools for comparing directories, images and DB’s
    •    “Change Signature” refactoring for JavaScript
    •    Misc. improvements for all supported VCS and noticeable improvements in performance
