Are you one of the few lucky searchers who saw the new Google search interface today? Early reports say
that Google just started testing its revamped search interface with
random users. You can find a method for getting this new interface here,
but it may or may not work. The new interface resembles the Google
Wave UI and is designed to have a clearer layout for search results. A
column on the left houses the image, maps, video, etc. search options
much like the Bing layout. Could it be that Google is actually taking ideas from Microsoft's search engine?
Apple hopes to deal the finishing blow to Mac clone maker, Psystar, by calling for a permanent injunction against the company's operations. A U.S. District Court judge ruled in favor of Apple's copyright infringement case against Psystar last week, and now it seems that Apple is trying to shut down their business for good. Apple's motion includes strong language saying that Psystar "has built its business on infringing Apple's copyrights and trademarks. Psystar's appropriation of Apple's intellectual property and goodwill has been systematic and brazen, from the name of Psystar's 'OpenMac' computers to its deliberate pirating of Apple's Mac OS X." In addition to the injunction, Apple is asking for compensation in the range of $450k to $4.5m. The compensation may be difficult to get since Psystar's bankruptcy filing says the company's assets are worth no more than $50k.
The final release of FreeBSD 8.0 is now available on the project's FTP servers. The Unix based operating system adds several new features in version 8.0. FreeBSD 8.0 supports superpages

Clang/LLVM and kernel traces support. The NFS client/server is
rewritten with NFSv4 and multicast updates. FreeBSD 8.0 also has
improved Solaris ZFS support.
